Fishpond Preschool

The FISHPOND Preschool is a part of the Newport Presbyterian Church in Bellevue. We offer a developmental Christian program for 2 year olds through Pre-Kindergarten. The philosophy of our early childhood program is geared to a child-centered education. We focus on the importance of play because we know play provides children with the opportunity to actively explore, manipulate and interact with their environment. It encourages children to investigate, create, discover and it motivates them to add to their understanding of the world.

Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each child. One goal is to build self-esteem that will lead to future success in school. Learning experiences are provided through art, music and movement, literature, science and dramatic play. The children explore language, nature and the world around them. They will paint, cook, build, slide, run, sing, dress-up, experiment, dance and share it all with their friends.

There is an emphasis placed on readiness skills in math, reading, writing and problem solving. Their eyes will be trained to discriminate how objects are alike and how they are different, as they prepare for the excitement of reading. The experiences of counting, sequencing, patterning and sorting objects prepare them for the basic math concepts.

We provide a safe and secure environment where children can gain the education and experience they will need to build a strong foundation for years to come.The most important part of our school day is communicating to each child how special they are and that they are loved. We have a wonderful staff, who give children the room to discover who they are, as they become creative, self-assured children, ready to enjoy and participate in the learning experience.

The FISHPOND Preschool provides opportunities for children to grow intellectually, socially, physically and spiritually in a warm, loving Christian environment. Once a week the children gather together of Chapel to celebrate the joy of living in God's world.

             We want the children to:

Our Programs:

Children who turn 2 by August 31st may attend a MW, T/Th or Friday class from 9:30-12:00.

Children turning 3 by August 31st attend our 3's program on T/Th mornings from 9:30-12:00, with an Extended Day option on Tuesday's from 12:00-1:30.

Children turning 4 by August 31st attend the 4's program on MWF mornings from 9:30-12:00 with an Extended Day option on Monday's from 12:00-1:30.

Children who miss the Kindergarten cut-off or need an extra year of preschool to prepare may attend our Pre-K program on Monday-Friday mornings from 9:30-12:00 with an Extended Day option on Tuesdays from 12:00-1:30

Registration:

The Fishpond currently has openings in its MWF 4's and Pre-K program. We are taking names for the waitlist for our 2's and 3's programs. If you are interested in finding out about enrollment in the 4's or Pre-K please contact the Director, Keri Cable, at (425)736-4392.

Tuition Rates:

2 day/wk 2's:   $179/month

Friday 2's:       $90/month

3's:                 $179/month

4's:                 $225/month

Pre-K:             $305/month

Once a spot has been offered a non-refundable registration fee of $75/child or $100/family, a supply fee (depends upon program) and 1/2 of September's tuition is due to secure an enrollment spot.
